Came multiple times, this most recent visit has been terrible and we will not be coming back. Food is fine. Service can be good or terrible. This time was terrible. We were seated immediately and ordered immediately. The appetizer didn’t come out for 20+ minutes afterwards (literally 2 pcs of tuna on top of rice). Then the main dishes (the rolls) didn’t come for 20+ minutes after that. We asked them about it because we were confused why nothing came after so long. Either the chef’s forgot our order, or the staff gave our food to other tables. Regardless every other parties that arrived after us received their food first. When we asked about the timeline, the staff asked us if we wanted to cancel our food?? Also left us without water the whole time and we kept having to chase someone down to get anything. Table next to us also wasn’t provided directions for the menu (scan on phone) and didn’t get their water until they chased someone down for it. The food recipe seemed to have changed as well, everything is absolutely DRENCHED in sesame oil now and there’s barely any fish in the rolls. Super disappointed, this used to be our favorite high end sushi place. Won’t be coming back.

A friend suggested this spot for a double date night, and wow... just wow. I officially know what actual good sushi tastes like now. The fish here is incredibly fresh, but can we talk about the rice? Because that’s what truly makes or breaks sushi. It was so flavorful, had the perfect hint of vinegar, and the texture was spot on, not too mushy, not too hard. A few highlights from our night: • The Rolls: They are huge! Seriously, they're long enough that you could easily share one between two people. • Lemon Roll: Absolutely awesome and so refreshing. • Yellowtail Hand Roll: Fantastic quality. • Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice: A total must-try. Highly, highly recommend ordering this! Beyond the food, the vibe inside is great—very lively with that bright, clean Japanese restaurant feel. The service was also absolutely impeccable from start to finish. For parking: Just park in the nearby street garage. It’s only $1 for the first 90 minutes, which is a total steal for Old Town Pasadena. Love this place, we will definitely be back!

Guys, what’s with the chip-thin rolls? Honestly, it feels like a cheap marketing move to make you think you’re getting more for their overpriced sushi. Both rolls were completely overpowered by sauce. The service and atmosphere were great, but I wouldn’t come back. There are much better spots at this price point.

Delicious sushi. Every single piece was delicate, fresh, and melted in my mouth. Skip the rolls, the nigiri are the real stars of the show. Putting a fresh new shine on authentic standards. (Almost too fresh--I wanted the mackerel to be more salty and fishy.) Their daily sake recommendation was so tasty too--bright and warm without being sweet.

Some of the best oysters I’ve had in LA! Overall good place, and I definitely recommend it. It’s pricy, but so worth it. We chose to sit at the “bar”, which meant we weren’t able to order sushi rolls. But getting to see the chef prepare your food in front of you is a great experience!
